Artist's Statement

Truth and story are not the same.  However, story is part of a larger truth.

As a documentary photographer, I want to capture story in a single frame. 

I don’t claim to capture truth.  But I work hard to find the moment.  That could be as simple as a single ray of light striking the subject of my work.  Or it could be the body language of the subject revealing more than intended.  Regardless, the moment will tell a story.

The story is paramount.  I am a storyteller.
